Subject: Drawing paper review.

I’m constantly looking for something good to draw on (and hopefully won’t kill my wallet as well.) So for 54.9HKD(Around 7.6USD) For a roll of 30miters drawing paper. How good is it? Today I’m going to answer this question everyone is asking. I’ve done a quick skull sketch with charcoal pencil and also Ink brush. How good is this roll of paper? Let’s find out.

Handling:

There is a stand that comes with it, But I think I won’t be needing it since it’s kinda big for my desk. So for the set up I just place the roll on top of my desk and use masking tape to hold it. It’s quite easy and handy.

Texture and feeling:

It has a smooth surface and a light yellow color to it which I like. Since white paper will reflect too much light and kill your eyes I’m happy to report “MALA”(name of this product lol ) Is a joy to look at. Also with the smooth texture it won’t eat away your pencil too quick which is also a plus.

Pencil Review:

Like I said before the smooth surface won’t eat away your pencil too much but still have enough texture to take in colors. The slight resistance feels good and won’t slip your pencil like some smooth paper does. As you can see in the demo you can do sharp and soft edges and lines on in with ease.

Ink brush Review:

I’m surprised how good it is working with ink brush. For ink brush the thing you look for is the resistance of the paper is just right so that you can do small lines and also thick brush work with it. I’m happy to report it gives you that control. Also it shows tones very well. Most paper I tried so far will show my 70% ink brush very dark but this paper shows it just right. Best paper I’ve inked on so far!

Verdict:

I’m planning to draw more skulls this year since Bruce lee one said: I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times. I’m going to practice skull 10000 times so Bruce lee will fear me! Jokes aside if you are looking for affordable paper to practice your ink on I highly recommend Mala from ikea. It’s also above average on the pencils too There videos here and there if you want to hear how the paper sounds (spoilers it sound better the Justin bieber.)

Hope this review is useful for you,

Take care,

Din
